STUNTS, TOSSES, TUMBLING CREDENTIALING

The BCA is offering IASF credentialing for coaches on Saturday and Sunday, August 23rd and 24th. There may be additional opportunities to credential on Monday, August 25th depending on the demand. Any coaches who wish to submit an application, should download and study the credentialing information on the USASF website.

You will need to complete the written test(s) and bring them with you. These tests function as your study guide and you should be fully comfortable with your knowledge.

If you are seeking credentialing from Level 3 upwards, you will need to complete the Experience Validation Form, and bring it with you.

You should allow a half hour for credentialing across the three disciplines Level 1 – 3 (up to 8 separate assessments). Levels 4 – 5 (up to 6 separate assessments) should also take about a half hour.

BCA wishes to stress that candidates who wish to be credentialed should NOT feel the need for further training, but should feel comfortable with their experience and abilities in coaching at the level for which they are applying.

BCA encourages all coaches who wish to attend the training workshops to return to their teams with these new skills and become confident in presenting these skills and working with their teams.

Coaches who attend the workshop will not be invited or permitted to credential in any levels for which they have just received training. Coaches will be welcome to return for credentialing in January 09.

Cheer Technique is a syllabus for use in clubs and schools to present cheerleading in a structured manner. The CT syllabus includes comprehensive definitions for all aspects of cheer terminology, from arm motions to dance steps, from strength training to flexibility exercises, from beginner stunt technique to team formations and transitions.

Coaching qualifications are offered in Assistant Coach, Full Coach and Advanced Coach levels 1 & 2. The Stunt Diploma is an additional qualification covering the basics of stunting.

The Cheer Technique system offers cheerleaders individual assessments in the form of Bronze, Silver and Gold medals, and further levels of advanced awards.

Learn how to develop the Cheer Technique awards programme in your team. Set up an exam session in your own venue. Cheer Technique (administered through the IDTA) will send a fully trained cheerleading examiner. Prepare a fund-raising event as your Awards Presentation Evening. Give every cheerleader (and parent) the opportunity to celebrate an outstanding personal assessment (Honours, Highly Commended, Commended & Pass) complete with certificate and medal or trophy.
